Master Thesis and Student Job at Boston-based Start-up

Black Duck Software (BDS) is a partner of our group and is offering our students the exclusive opportunity for 4-6 months internship at their headquarters in Boston, MA (USA) or in Germany. Students get to work on a leading software product, the ohloh.net open source project catalog. Internships can start at any time.

We combine the internship with a Master Thesis in Software Engineering at our research group. BDS offers a salary and help with the U.S. work visa. Topics of interest to both BDS and our group are:

  • programming language analysis and metrics
  • open source bug tracker data analysis
  • improving software code quality
  • improving software security

Multiple positions are available. Students should be good programmers and they’ll get the chance to experience agile software development in a professional context. One of our students already returned and is now a Ph.D. student at our research group, sponsored by BDS.

Working in Boston is preferred, but under special circumstances working from Germany may also be possible.
